Our client is a well-established FMCG manufacturing organisation with a strong footprint in beverage products. The business is focused on modernising operations and strengthening leadership capabilities.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage daily production operations across semi-automated and manual packing lines to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with safety, quality, and SMETA/ethical standards.
  • Plan and monitor production schedules to meet delivery timelines and business demands consistently.
  • Drive operational performance by achieving output, quality, and cost efficiency targets.
  • Optimize resource utilization, including manpower and machinery, to maximize productivity.
  • Oversee, coach, and develop a team of 4 first-line managers and skilled operators.
  • Analyze production data and generate performance reports to support decision-making.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align production with market and organizational requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong industrial relations within a unionized workforce while resolving operational issues effectively.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years in manufacturing, with 2-3 years in a production leadership role
  • Proven experience in FMCG manufacturing, with strong exposure to production operations.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in manufacturing, including 2-3 years in a production leadership role.
  • Background in food & beverage manufacturing or closely related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control and continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and inspire teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities across cross-functional teams.
  • High level of business acumen with the ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive operational performance improvements.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and regulatory standards within manufacturing environments.
  • Agile, hands-on mindset with the ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced, transformation-driven environments.
