About Our Client

Our client is a well‑established multinational in the food & beverage manufacturing industry with multiple production facilities across Malaysia and a rapidly expanding footprint in the region. They are strengthening their procurement team to support business growth, especially in the dairy category.c

Job Description

  • Manage direct material purchasing for food commodities, ingredients, and packaging
  • Lead sourcing activities including RFQ/RFP, cost analysis, benchmarking, and award recommendations
  • Drive contract negotiation for pricing, terms, incoterms, and service levels
  • Qualify and onboard suppliers in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards
  • Monitor supplier performance including quality, responsiveness, OTIF, and lead times
  • Track market trends for commodity and packaging categories to guide pricing strategies
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply for normal operations
  • Manage PO execution, delivery tracking, and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with QA, R&D, Production, Planning, and Finance on specifications, NPD, and operational requirements
  • Maintain accurate ERP data for pricing, lead times, suppliers, and contracts
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement Manager should have:

  • 4-6 years of direct material purchasing experience in FMCG or food manufacturing
  • Strong exposure to food commodities, ingredients, and packaging categories
  • Skilled in negotiation, supplier qualification, and category management
  • Independent, hands‑on, and comfortable in a sole contributor capacity
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage
