Job Description

  • Lead and grow the Data Platform team (DevOps Engineers and Software Engineer for the data marketplace): hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching and career development
  • Act as a hands-on technical leader (player/coach): contribute to designs and automation, review code and IaC, unblock complex platform problems, and establish reusable patterns and standards
  • Own end-to-end engineering delivery and operations for the Azure + Databricks platform (environments, workspaces, networking, security integration, and platform services), ensuring stability and operational readiness
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform components and Databricks assets (code, configs, jobs/workflows, libraries), including release governance and change controls
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) for Azure resources and platform configurations; drive environment consistency and reduce configuration drift

The Successful Applicant

A successful Platform Engineering Manager should have:

  • A strong educational background in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in platform engineering or related areas within the technology sector.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a technical team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical expertise in platform management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • A track record of delivering scalable and reliable technology solutions.
