About Our Client

An established EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) company in Malaysia is looking for a Director of Commodity Management to lead its procurement team. The company is focused on strengthening its global position through strong supplier partnerships and supply chain excellence.

In this role, you will manage a team responsible for sourcing, supplier selection, and overall supplier performance. You will oversee pricing, contracts, and supplier capacity, while ensuring reliable supply and cost competitiveness.

You will also lead supplier development, drive cost reduction initiatives, and handle key negotiations with major suppliers. Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure procurement strategies support business goals and new product needs.

Overall, this role is responsible for building strong supplier relationships, improving performance, and driving an efficient, cost-effective supply chain.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end planning activities to ensure smooth alignment between demand, production, and material availability
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable production and shipment plans across multiple product lines
  • Monitor and adjust plans based on real-time changes in demand, supply, and operational constraints
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and maintain on-time delivery performance
  • Identify potential risks in supply or capacity and implement mitigation actions proactively
  • Enhance planning processes and tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
  • Act as a key interface for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on schedules, priorities, and commitments



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or order management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of how demand, capacity, and materials interact in a production setting
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable plans
  • Experience working with planning systems (e.g. ERP, MRP, or similar tools)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and drive solutions independently
