We are looking for a Lead / Senior Java Developer to join our client's dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur on a contractual basis. This role is ideal for a senior developer who has strong technical expertise in Java and related frameworks, with some exposure to mentoring or guiding team members. You will primarily remain hands-on in development, while gradually taking on responsibilities to support a small team.

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers as needed.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and high coding standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
  • Support the team lead/manager in planning tasks, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies to propose improvements and innovation.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience (Java 8 and above).
  • Good knowledge of Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
  • Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and version control (Git).
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior developers or leading small initiatives is desirable, but formal leadership experience is not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to collaborate effectively.
