Job Description

  • Lead the bank's risk management function by establishing and maintaining frameworks and policies addressing credit, market, liquidity, operational, and climate-related risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate risk exposures to ensure they remain within the bank's defined risk appetite and comply with capital adequacy and liquidity standards.
  • Perform periodic risk assessments, stress testing, and reviews of internal controls across all business operations.
  • Advise business units on effective risk mitigation approaches, foster a culture of risk awareness, and deliver detailed risk reports to Senior Management and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate risk management into all business processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the organization's risk management policies and practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Possess a strong academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Banking, or a related discipline, or hold an equivalent professional certification.
  • Experienced risk management professional with a minimum of 8 years in the investment banking or capital markets industry, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • In-depth understanding of risk and control frameworks, with practical exposure to investment banking functions such as stockbroking, corporate finance and advisory, treasury, and commercial lending.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate key risks, including conducting thorough risk evaluations and root cause analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within teams while exhibiting effective leadership qualities.
  • Capable of delivering clear and impactful presentations in senior management and committee-level discussions.
