Job Description

  • Lead engineering activities for metal structures and sheet metal projects
  • Develop, review, and approve AutoCAD drawings for fabrication and assembly
  • Translate designs into manufacturable processes, work instructions, and BOMs
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for fabrication, welding, sandblasting, and powder coating
  • Work closely with fabrication, welding, and finishing teams to support production
  • Establish and maintain structured, process-driven engineering workflows
  • Control drawing revisions, engineering changes, and documentation standards
  • Identify and resolve manufacturability, quality, and fit issues
  • Support cost efficiency, production timelines, and quality objectives
  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineers and draftsmen
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and production handover

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 7-10+ years' experience in metal fabrication or sheet metal environments
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
  • Proven experience converting drawings into shop-ready solutions
  • Solid understanding of metal structures, sheet metal fabrication, and welding
  • Knowledge of sandblasting and powder coating processes and tolerances
  • Experience preparing BOMs, cutting lists, and fabrication drawings
  • Prior experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • Highly structured, methodical, and process-driven working style
  • Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working between office and factory or shop-floor environments
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
