With a strong presence in the market, they are dedicated to advancing innovative solutions while maintaining a commitment to regulatory excellence.Job DescriptionLead the protection and governance of sensitive and personal data across the organisation.Advise stakeholders on privacy risk assessments, including DPIAs, and recommend practical risk mitigation strategies.Identify, assess, and manage data privacy risks arising from new business initiatives, technologies, and projects.Develop, review, and enhance data privacy frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure strong governance practices.Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and industry best practices in data protection.Act as a subject matter expert on data privacy, protection, and ethical data use, providing clear and practical guidance to stakeholders.Support the integration of privacy and ethical considerations into business processes and data-driven initiatives.Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and Business teams to ensure consistent privacy governance.Design and deliver training, awareness programmes, and communication initiatives to strengthen employee understanding of data protection obligations.Serve as a liaison for regulatory and data protection authorities, supporting responses to enquiries, audits, consultations, and compliance matters.The Successful ApplicantA successful Data Ethics and Privacy Manager should have:Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Management, or a related field, with strong academic and professional foundations in data privacy or governance.At least 5 to 6 years of experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or governance, including hands-on experience managing compliance programmes.Strong understanding of regional data protection laws and regulatory frameworks, particularly across Southeast Asia.Relevant professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent, with knowledge of emerging technologies including cloud, AI, blockchain, and open banking considered an advantage.Prior experience within financial services, digital, or fintech environments, with the ability to operate effectively in technology-driven organisations.What's on OfferCompetitive annual salary.Permanent position in a large organization located in Kuala Lumpur.Collaborative and professional work environment.Chance to make a significant impact on data ethics and privacy practices within the financial services industry.If you are passionate about data governance and privacy, this is your opportunity to join a leading organization in Kuala Lumpur.
