We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quality Manager to support quality assurance operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role will oversee food safety, regulatory compliance, customer quality standards, and managing the QA/QC team while partnering closely with the relevant senior stakeholders in the organization.

Job Description

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems across the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP, hygiene, and food safety requirements.
  • Lead and supervise daily QA/QC operations and provide guidance to a small quality team.
  • Manage internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee pest control programmes and environmental monitoring initiatives.
  • Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality incidents, implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Support the Factory Quality Assurance Manager in achieving site quality objectives and operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience within food manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in chocolate, confectionery, or related food production environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP, pest control programmes, food hygiene, and audit management.
  • Experience leading or supervising a QA/QC team.
  • Agile, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while receiving direction from senior quality leadership.
