The Application Engineer will be responsible to support technical sales activities through product selection, proposal preparation, customer discussions, training, and troubleshooting support for mechanical seals and sealing systems. The role serves as a critical link between Sales, Engineering, Service, and Design teams to deliver effective technical solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Participate in technical discussions with customers for projects, engineered applications, competitor conversions, retrofits, and system upgrades
  • Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions
  • Analyze application data and technical requirements to recommend suitable mechanical seals and sealing systems
  • Review and process customer inquiries and orders while ensuring compliance with technical specifications
  • Support sales activities by providing technical expertise and product application guidance
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation
  • Review purchase orders, pump and seal datasheets, and technical requirements for project execution
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Service, and Design teams to ensure timely project completion
  • Provide troubleshooting support for mechanical seals and associated systems when advanced technical assistance is required
  • Assist with customer site visits for data collection, technical assessments, and problem resolution
  • Develop and maintain installed-base records, case studies, success stories, and technical presentations
  • Support the creation and updating of internal technical documentation and application knowledge resources

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge of mechanical sealing technologies, API plans, and associated equipment
  • Understanding of mechanical seal selection for various industrial applications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with rotating equipment is preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage customers and internal stakeholders effectively
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for technical assessments, troubleshooting, and data collection
  • Experience using SAP is an added advantage
