This leadership role is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, order management, load optimization, and driver performance to ensure efficient and cost-effective vehicle deliveries. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Transport Manager will drive operational excellence, compliance, capacity utilization, and customer service performance.

Job Description

Oversee the end-to-end order-to-delivery process, ensuring high service levels and operational efficiency.

Drive fleet capacity planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer demand.

Lead load planning and route optimization initiatives to maximize asset utilization and reduce operating costs.

Monitor and improve key operational metrics, including delivery performance, utilization, and turnaround times.

Manage, develop, and motivate drivers while ensuring compliance with licensing, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture through training, performance management, and operational governance.

Utilize telematics and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and address performance issues proactively.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transport Manager should have:

  • Proven transport or fleet management leader with at least 5 years of experience managing road transport operations.
  • Strong expertise in dispatch planning, load optimization, fleet utilization, and driver management.
  • Sound understanding of transport regulations, licensing requirements, and operational compliance standards.
  • Skilled in balancing operational performance, customer expectations, and cost management.
  • Strong people leader with the ability to drive accountability, engagement, and operational discipline.
  • Experience with TMS, route optimization, or telematics systems will be highly advantageous.
