The Senior Equipment Manager is responsible for the strategy, reliability, and lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment within a high‑volume, regulated manufacturing environment. The role ensures equipment availability, compliance, scalability, and readiness to support current operations and future growth, including new product introductions.

Job Description

  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of manufacturing equipment (specification → procurement → installation → qualification → maintenance → obsolescence).
  • Define and execute equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and spare‑parts strategies.
  • Lead capital planning (CapEx) for new lines, capacity expansion, and technology upgrades.
  • Support high‑volume automated assembly and test equipment (custom and semi‑custom machines).
  • Drive OEE improvement, downtime reduction, and yield enhancement.
  • Partner with vendors on design-for-manufacturability and equipment standardization.
  • Ensure equipment meets FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, and validation requirements.
  • Lead or support IQ/OQ/PQ, change control, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Validation, and RA teams.
  • Manage and mentor Equipment Engineers, Technicians, and Automation Engineers.
  • Set engineering standards, SOPs, and technical training frameworks.
  • Act as escalation point for complex equipment failures.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Equipment Manager should possess:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in equipment management
  • Strong experience in medical devices, pharmacetuicals or other regulated high volume industries
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
