The DC Facilities Engineering Manager will be responsible to lead engineering support delivery for data centre operations, ensuring high availability, efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. The role partners with internal and external stakeholders to optimise operations, drive certifications, and implement best-in-class engineering standards.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership to the local engineering support team and drive strategic initiatives
  • Support performance management including goal setting, reviews, and development plans
  • Act as subject matter expert in Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems
  • Champion incident and problem management processes aligned with ITIL practices
  • Lead energy management initiatives including audits, optimisation, and cost-saving programmes
  • Oversee procurement, contract management, and vendor performance for technical services
  • Manage end-to-end certification programmes (ISO, LEED, ANSI/TIA-942, etc.)
  • Collaborate with project and technology teams to enhance design and maintainability
  • Develop and review engineering policies, procedures, and maintenance frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards
  • Drive technical training and capability development within the operations team
  • Support client audits and provide required operational reporting
  • Undertake additional projects or duties as assigned

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in critical facilities or data centre operations
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, and cooling systems
  • Proven experience managing certification programmes (e.g. ISO, LEED, ANSI/TIA-942)
  • Experience in incident, problem, and change management frameworks
  • Demonstrated expertise in project, programme, contract, and vendor management
  • Familiarity with energy and capacity management practices
  • Understanding of environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Power BI
  • Relevant professional certifications are advantageous (e.g. LEED, ITIL, data centre certifications)
