Job Description

  • Lead and mentor a local development team supporting global initiatives
  • Build and enhance real‑time applications using modern Java technologies
  • Drive development, code reviews, debugging, testing, and deployment activities
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues
  • Perform data analysis and schema design for data pipelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and technologies

The Successful Applicant

A successful Backend Engineering Team Lead (Java) should have:

  • A strong educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong hands‑on experience with modern Java (Java 17) and solid understanding of design patterns, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms
  • Practical exposure to SQL performance tuning, messaging frameworks
  • Familiarity with engineering toolchains such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, and experience working with Spark, S3, or Python
  • Ability to lead and mentor developers while contributing actively to coding, debugging, and solution design
  • Comfortable collaborating with global teams, managing priorities, and supporting real‑time, high‑performance backend systems
