Job Description

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement and oversee database backup, recovery, and security measures to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to design and deploy database solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot database issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Optimize database performance through regular maintenance and tuning activities.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards and procedures.
  • Assist with database migrations, upgrades, and capacity planning to meet the organization's growing needs.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to database management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Database Administrator should have:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field with strong academic results (CGPA 3.3-3.5 and above)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in MySQL and AWS (RDS required)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Familiar with cloud networking, monitoring, and backup/recovery practices
  • AWS certification is advantageous
  • Able to work rotational shifts (including overnight)
  • Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin to liaise with regional stakeholders
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
