A leading EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) client in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Sourcing Engineer to join their expanding team in the Northern Region. With a focused vision to strengthen their market position and enhance global competitiveness, the company continues to build its success on operational excellence, strategic supplier partnerships, and continuous innovation.

As part of their next phase of growth, they are looking for a skilled sourcing professional who can drive supplier evaluation and selection, optimise sourcing strategies, and ensure cost‑effective procurement of electronic components and materials. The role will play a critical part in supporting end‑to‑end sourcing activities, improving supplier performance, and contributing to overall supply chain efficiency and scalability.

Job Description

  • Support NPI activities by coordinating RFQs, samples, drawings, and proposing alternative components, while setting up new part data such as commodity codes, HT codes, and item master information.
  • Manage supplier selection, onboarding, and performance, including setting up supplier records, training new suppliers, and maintaining supplier management programs.
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses-reviewing cost‑breakdown sheets, comparing market prices, and supporting tooling cost reviews and lifecycle follow‑ups.
  • Coordinate sample submissions and documentation for First Article Inspections (FAI), and support annual tooling stock‑take activities with Finance.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, supply chain, quality, and finance teams to align sourcing strategies with project and component requirements.
  • Maintain strong cross‑functional communication, providing timely updates on sourcing progress, supplier performance, and potential supply risks.



The Successful Applicant

  • Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and sound problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment while managing multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Communicates effectively and can influence decision‑making across internal stakeholders and supplier networks.
  • Experienced with Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, Dataverse, DAX, and visual reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is essential for the role.
