We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with strong expertise in electronics manufacturing and supplier quality management. This role is responsible for evaluating supplier quality systems, conducting audits, driving corrective actions, and supporting strategic sourcing decisions.

Job Description

  • Conduct on-site supplier audits to assess quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and evaluate supplier capabilities.
  • Lead supplier qualification processes by aligning technical, testing, and compliance requirements with internal teams.
  • Oversee supplier performance using metrics, scorecards, and data analysis to drive quality improvement plans.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and coordinate resolution through supplier engagement and internal MRB processes.
  • Lead and evaluate corrective actions (SCARs) using tools like 8D, 5 Why, and FMEA to ensure root cause resolution and effectiveness.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to supplier products and drive countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Support new product introductions by guiding suppliers on quality deliverables such as PFMEAs, control plans, and PCNs.
  • Act as the quality liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
  • Participate in internal/external audits and contribute to continuous improvement of quality systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional projects through quality expertise and leadership.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Electronics, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or supplier development roles, ideally in the electronics industry
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes (e.g. ESD, FOD, SMT) and materials
  • Knowledge of product testing (eg. electrical, thermal, performance and reliability)
  • Familiar with industry standards: IPC-A-610, IPC-620, RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, and related regulations
  • Experience with PCB design and assembly processes
  • Strong understanding of quality tools: 8D, FMEA, 5 Why, control plans, CAPA, and root cause analysis
