Job Description

  • Source parts and components to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met
  • Select and manage suppliers to align with company standards and performance expectations
  • Negotiate lead times, pricing, and quality terms with suppliers to maximize company benefit
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct evaluations with feedback for continuous improvement
  • Gather and analyze market data to support strategic purchasing decisions
  • Conduct feasibility studies for localization projects
  • Support Engineering in new product costing and development
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on product qualification and production trials
  • Perform technical inspections of new samples from local suppliers as needed
  • Provide technical support to local production, including equipment setup and spare part sourcing
  • Follow procurement guidelines set by headquarters
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers aligned with business needs
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, commercial, and contractual requirements

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Purchasing Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automation Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, specifically with sheet metal parts, wire mesh products, and plastic parts
  • Strong skills in costing for part and tooling estimations
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within the supply chain
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, and is self-motivated, customer-oriented, and results-driven
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for sheet metal parts, wire mesh, plastic injection, and electrical control panels (enclosures)
  • Experience in sourcing raw materials (e.g., steel coil, wire rod, plastic resin), monitoring prices and stock movements
  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control is a plus
