Job Description



  • Provide strategic legal guidance to the management team on investment initiatives, advising on transaction structures, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance to mitigate legal and commercial risks.


  • Direct the formulation and implementation of a robust legal framework aligned with the company's operational goals and risk appetite.


  • Assess and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts and procurement-related documents - including tenders, charter agreements, sales and purchase agreements, sponsorship, and bonds - to ensure legal soundness and acceptable risk exposure.


  • Support contract negotiations and participate in high-level discussions and correspondence to safeguard the company's legal interests.


  • Liaise with external legal firms and panel lawyers to ensure that all legal documentation, advisory services, and litigation matters are in order.


  • Handle various additional legal assignments and responsibilities as delegated by senior leadership.



The Successful Applicant



  • At least 15 years of solid experience in corporate legal advisory and oil & gas contract management, with deep industry knowledge and strategic insight.


  • Well-versed in drafting and reviewing procurement, equipment rental, and subcontract agreements - offering a distinct advantage in handling complex commercial arrangements.


  • Strong communicator with excellent negotiation and presentation skills; adept at influencing stakeholders and driving favorable legal and business outcomes.


  • Keeps current with evolving legal and regulatory landscapes and actively engages with subject matter experts to continuously strengthen legal acumen.


  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with a high level of proficiency in legal documentation, contract drafting, and stakeholder engagement.


  • Highly independent, adaptable, and resourceful; capable of managing legal functions effectively with minimal supervision and limited resources.
