The Senior Legal Executive / Legal Executive will play a key role in providing legal support on contractual matters, particularly related to construction and engineering projects using FIDIC contract forms. The role focuses on reviewing, drafting, advising, and ensuring contract compliance to protect the company's legal and commercial interests.

Job Description

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate construction contracts including FIDIC contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide legal guidance on contractual rights, obligations, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with construction laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Handle contract disputes, claims, and arbitration.
  • Assist in litigation matters and coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks in construction projects.
  • Conduct due diligence on contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Keep updated on legal and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Support and manage corporate exercises.
  • Liaise with government authorities, clients, and subcontractors to resolve legal issues.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements:

  • A degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • 3 years PQE and above.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal frameworks and regulations in the industrial and manufacturing industry.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in managing legal compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to handle dispute resolution and litigation matters effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
