They are currently looking for a Regional Senior Legal & Compliance Manager to join their ranks.

Job Description

  • Analyze on complex legal risks & opportunities on various Malaysian, Brunei & Singapore laws including but not limited to company law, competition law, anti-corruption law, personal data law, food law, intellectual property law, property/land law, environment law and build legal strategies to ensure continuous business growth. Conduct legal watch and ensure comprehensive and on-going knowledge of emerging trends and subjects that have potential to impact to the CBU
  • Conduct legal watch and ensure comprehensive and on-going knowledge of emerging trends and subjects that have potential to impact to the CBU
  • Implement and apply guidelines policies with the objective to reduce legal risk and protect the assets of the CBU
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop/implement corrective action plans
  • Management of legal process systems (C-Box, contracts management policy, CVM, compliance approvals etc.)
  • Manage the bi-yearly corporate and litigation reporting to headquarters, company secretarial matters, understanding and advising on local corporate law requirement and advocating strong internal governance
  • Ensure collaborative objectives are achieved with various internal stakeholders in relation to internal audit, internal control, risk management, process improvement and efficiency

The Successful Applicant

  • Malaysia qualified lawyer with a LLB degree (or the equivalent) and at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • In-house experience essential
  • Ability to work independently and also in a team
  • Ability to deliver quality work efficiently
  • Strong drafting and communication skills
  • Strong commercial sense and ability to make practical evaluations of risks
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in the logistics industry would be advantageous (though not a must)
