About Our Client

We are currently representing our client, leading player in the manufacturing industry (Unionized), across 2 plants with a headcount of 3,000 staff strength. Having said that, they are looking for dynamic and result oriented candidate for the role of a Senior IR Manager.

Job Description

  • You will in charge of the overall IR matters for the Group and 2 manufacturing plants for the business.
  • Manage day to day operations for the following HR functions and duties which includes but not limited to direct labor (DL) recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations, HR services, RBA, employee welfare and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
  • Guide managers and supervisors on employee and industrial relations knowledge to effectively minimize company's legal exposure.
  • Ensure good employee relations by actively engaging all stakeholders for achieving greater industrial harmony. To regularly analyse and share data with the managers and supervisors in order to provide counselling for employees or to take pro active actions to ensure harmonious industrial relations.
  • Conflict and Grievance Resolution - coordinate the entire grievance process through proper channel and ensure that all grievances are amicably settled.

The Successful Applicant

  • Open to Malaysians only
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or any other related field.
  • A with minimum 10 years' experience in Human Resources within a Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience in managing Union and negotiating Collective Agreement will be an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour laws eg. Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, Trade Union Act 1959, Industrial Court, Labour Court, union management etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law including Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, managing poor performance, misconduct in employment, employee grievances, formulating Industrial Relations policies and procedures, disciplinary inquiry, disciplinary action, conducting domestic inquiries, preliminary investigations and handling.
