The Senior Field Application Engineer will provide application‑level engineering support from design through production. Serve as the technical bridge between customers, factories, and internal teams. This person will need to travel around central-southern Peninsular Malaysia.

Job Description

  • Provide technical advice on mechanical applications, including fastening and assembly solutions
  • Review engineering drawings and clarify technical requirements with customers
  • Coordinate sample trials and testing with manufacturing teams
  • Prepare and present technical reports aligned to customer expectations
  • Engage customers through site visits and online meetings to support applications and resolve issues
  • Act as first point of contact for technical complaints and quality concerns
  • Coordinate quality activities such as investigations, corrective actions, and returns
  • Support customer qualification and documentation requests (e.g. PPAP)
  • Conduct technical training for customers, distributors, and internal teams
  • Organize on‑site demonstrations or mini roadshows to showcase solutions
  • Support sales and marketing teams during customer visits and exhibitions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or software‑related equipment issues when required
  • Advise on equipment selection, configuration, and application suitability
  • Conduct validation trials to confirm solution performance on customer parts
  • Compile technical and quality data for periodic management reporting

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in application or field engineering, or
  • 5 years' experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments
  • Exposure to mechanical components, fastening systems, or assembly processes is an advantage
  • Experience supporting OEM customers in automotive, electronics, datacom, or telecom sectors preferred
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in customer‑facing roles
  • Willingness to travel and support customers across assigned regions (central-southern Peninsular Malaysia)
