Job Description

The role is strategically positioned between Legal and Compliance, whilst specialising in 2 critical areas (Sanctions and Data Protection). As the subject matter expert and advisor for regional businesses, you will have overall regional purview in the implementation of sanctions and data protection programs in Asia. Reporting directly into the Group Head of Legal and Compliance, accountabilities include:-

  • Implement and manage the Sanctions and Data Protection program in Asia, including Due Diligence systems
  • Support the Group Sanctions and Data Protection Program on a global level (South America, North America, Europe, where required)
  • Participate in discussions with the Global team to find opportunities for improvement, including advising Board of Directors
  • Implement policies and procedures across the regional business operations, aimed at managing sanctions and data risks
  • Support the commercial team during negotiations of contracts in relations to Sanctions and Data Protection
  • Provide or manage third parties to provide legal opinions relating to Sanctions and Data Protection
  • Conduct periodic review of the list of clients and contractors to identify risks and opportunities

The Successful Applicant

You possess a strong career track record in a Legal and Compliance capacity, advising external clients or internal business partners on Data Protection and Sanctions related matters (mandatory).
