We are looking for an RTR Domain Expert with a Life Insurance background. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of accounting practices within the life insurance industry and a strong foundation in General Accounting. As an RTR (Record to Report) expert, you will play a key role in supporting and managing the accounting and reporting functions within the life insurance domain.

Job Description

  • General Accounting: Support end-to-end accounting processes in a life insurance environment, including journal entries, month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide expertise in life insurance-specific financial reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards such as IFRS or GAAP.
  • RTR Process Management: Manage and optimize the Record to Report (RTR) processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and reporting of financial data. Provide insights on accounting matters specific to the life insurance industry.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Maintain internal control frameworks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the life insurance sector.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvement in accounting processes and work towards optimizing workflows and systems.

The Successful Applicant

A successful RTR Manager should have:

  • Life Insurance Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles within the life insurance industry.
  • General Accounting: Strong experience in General Accounting with a focus on the RTR domain, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • RTR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Record to Report (RTR) processes, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements in the insurance industry.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; Cantonese-speaking skills are an advantage. Knowledge of Mandarin is not mandatory, but would be a plus.
  • Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are a plus.
