Job Description

You will lead end‑to‑end retail strategy and operations for a large pharmacy network, driving transformation, standardisation, and performance excellence across all outlets. Key responsibilities:

  • Developing a cohesive national retail strategy that drives customer engagement, pharmacy excellence, and sustained commercial growth.
  • Leading and inspiring a large frontline workforce, elevating service levels and overall store capability.
  • Establishing strong operational frameworks and SOPs to support rapid expansion and integration of newly acquired outlets.
  • Driving retail transformation through modernisation, innovation, process improvements, and continuous optimisation.
  • Using performance insights and retail analytics to enhance productivity, revenue, and customer experience.
  • Optimising store layouts, merchandising standards, and service models to strengthen the pharmacy retail proposition.
  • Championing operational efficiencies, digital tools, and systems that improve retail performance.
  • Collaborating closely with commercial, supply chain, marketing, and senior management teams to align retail execution with strategic goals.
  • Identifying growth opportunities and supporting aggressive nationwide expansion plans.
  • Ensuring operational governance, compliance, and consistent brand execution across all outlets.


The Successful Applicant

A successful Retail Director should have:

    • Proven leadership experience in multi‑site retail management.
    • Pharmacy retail experience is a must - current or past.
    • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving retail performance.
    • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate large frontline teams.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with agility to thrive in a fast‑growing, fast‑moving environment.
    • Experience strengthening retail SOPs, frameworks, and operational processes.
    • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Strategic thinker with hands‑on operational capability to drive execution on the ground.
