About Our Client

Our client, a European multinational company with an established manufacturing presence in China, is currently expanding its operations into Malaysia. As part of this strategic growth, they are seeking experienced industry professionals to join their team as a Resident Process Engineer.

Job Description

  • Serve as the on-site technical liaison between the company, customers, and/or suppliers.
  • Monitor and optimize plastic molding processes to ensure stable production and product consistency.
  • Troubleshoot process issues related to materials, tooling, or equipment and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including mold trials, validation, and process documentation.
  • Work closely with quality and production teams to resolve non-conformities and improve product performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing cycle time, scrap, and process variation.
  • Maintain process documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and process parameters.
  • Provide technical training to production teams on process setup and best practices.
  • Conduct process capability studies (CPK/Ppk), DOE, and root cause analysis (RCA) when required

The Successful Applicant

  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within plastic injection molding.
  • Solid understanding of polymer materials, tooling, and molding machine operations.
  • Proficient in process improvement tools such as DOE, 5 Why, 8D, and Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work at supplier sites as required.
  • Mandarin is required to communicate with counterparts in China, as product and process documents are in Mandarin.
