Job Description

  • Collaborate with the US team to update and maintain the Product Specification.
  • Oversee the product development process following the New Product Development (NPD) procedure.
  • Create and manage the project schedule with suppliers, ensuring team review and approval.
  • Lead design review sessions with suppliers and the US team.
  • Evaluate off-the-shelf products from new suppliers by conducting tests and providing an evaluation report for team review.
  • Perform testing of working prototypes for design validation.
  • Prepare all necessary technical documentation for agency approval in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Monitor the project timeline and ensure the timely launch of products.
  • Address and follow up on quality issues in collaboration with the quality team.
  • Participate in engineering builds, pilot runs, track Corrective Action Plans (CAP), and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist the Sourcing team during the quotation process.
  • Ensure that the product meets packaging requirements.
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Coordinate and support cost reduction initiatives (Value-Based Engineering - VBE).
  • Work closely with the quality team to ensure proper manufacturing process control and monitoring.
  • Track supplier performance and provide guidance to improve their operations.
  • Be familiar with various factory audits and assessments, including ISO, SA, COC, SMETA, BSCI, GMP, and CTPAT, and be willing to participate if required.
  • Have experience in Pre-shipment inspections and be open to conducting them when needed.
  • Possess experience in product testing and be available to perform tests if necessary.
  • Manage and follow up on field returns and customer complaints, if required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or their designated representatives.
  • This role was established to support geographically diverse supply chains and the relocation of products to Southeast Asia, working closely with partners in China and the Asia Pacific region.
  • This role requires a high level of independence and the ability to work remotely from Southeast Asia. The individual will represent the company and be present at the supplier sites within the region.
  • The role involves providing clear and objective assessments of supplier on-site status, project timelines, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • The individual will be responsible for creating and executing project plans.
  • The role includes determining the appropriate timing for advancing projects and transitioning to subsequent stages based on on-site conditions. Additionally, the individual must recognise when strategies are not effective and make necessary adjustments to the plan.
  • The individual will maintain direct and transparent communication with both the team and the supplier team in China to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned for success.



The Successful Applicant

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management, quality management, or quality assurance in the electrical appliance industry.
  • Extensive experience in electrical and mechanical product development, particularly with motors.
  • Self-driven, independent, and highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Passionate about quality, engineering, and product development.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines is a must.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Mandarin speaking is a significant advantage
  • Knowledgeable about international safety standards for electrical appliances.
  • Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work independently under pressure.
  • Strong crisis management skills to handle project-related challenges.
  • A reliable team player with a committed attitude and excellent communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Willing to stay for extended periods in Southeast Asian countries.
