Job Description

  • Define and implement product objectives and priorities in alignment with US management.
  • Lead assigned product development, application, manufacturing, and technical support activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Support, Sales) to address customer requests and maintain engagement.
  • Oversee projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely completion and informing customers of any deviations.
  • Ensure all product changes and enhancements are effectively communicated, documented, and released to customers.
  • Liaise with upper management to secure necessary resources, provide status updates, and coordinate technical issue resolutions.
  • Maintain customer product configurations, identify revenue opportunities, and develop value-added presentations. Support sales and marketing teams in preparing quotations.
  • Review and approve product cost implications during the Engineering Change Order (ECO) stage.
  • Analyse quality data and monitor warranty expenditures to identify and prioritise improvements. Manage the warranty budget and enhance product reliability through statistical analysis of field failures.
  • Address escalated customer concerns via the Technical Support team, ensuring prioritisation, status updates, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Review and approve internal and external 8D reports before submission to management and customers.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Product Manager should have:



  • Education & Training:

    • Bachelor's degree (BSc./BEng.) in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree is highly preferred.



    Experience:

    • At least seven years of experience in product development and sustaining engineering, specifically with complex electro-mechanical systems or precision automated equipment.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
    • Strong understanding of project monitoring and reporting systems.
    • Experience working in a global manufacturing environment is advantageous.
    • Direct experience working with large industrial customers.



    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong matrix organisation management skills.
    • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational abilities.
    • Diplomatic and patient with strong listening skills.
    • Creative and innovative problem-solving approach.



    Technical Expertise:

    • Knowledge of semiconductor packaging and manufacturing processes.
    • Strong background in automation, mechatronics, and electro-pneumatic applications.
    • Proficiency in statistical and quality tools such as DFMEA, DOE, and risk assessment.



    Work Environment & Travel:

    • Requires domestic and international travel.
    • May work in a lab environment with intermittent noise exposure.
    • Prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
