About Our Client

Our client is one of the leading glass manufacturing companies located in Selangor is currently looking to hire a new headcount of Procurement Supplier Development Engineer to join their business.

Job Description

  • Ensure orders are made according to specification and meeting delivery lead time.
  • Propose alternative solutions to current ways of operation with a view of process improvement & cost saving objectives.
  • Execute sourcing according to competitive tendering procedures and comply with the related tendering policies including Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Negotiate contracts and obtain approval of contracts according to the approval process defined in the procurement procedures and policies through Ariba system.
  • Create sourcing projects that would bring savings and create values according to the agreed annual objectives.
  • Manage supply risks by maintaining alternative suppliers and reducing risk of supply disruption
  • Complete, review and update the Category Strategy Document for Malaysia in each category.
  • Ensure Purchase Order is/are issued on time and no delivery interruptions.
  • Conduct annual and periodical spend data analysis.
    On time monthly reporting to the Management.
  • Ensure all necessary requirements by the local government/authorities are fulfilled and maintained (eg. SST/Dutu Exemption MIDA)
  • Review payment terms annually with suppliers to generate cash flow improvement.
  • Improve the capability of the supply base in quality, delivery, design support, lean supply, and cost reduction.
  • Manage the SQIN and SDIN working with Quality departments and suppliers to resolve issues and lead commercial cost recovery against non-conforming suppliers.
  • Ensure that stated operating budgets, along with goals/objectives, are in line with those of the business line and managed appropriately.
  • Support global team in Supplier Development capability and extend support in another category when needed.
  • Communicate and review EcoVadis scorecard of suppliers for continuous improvement process.

The Successful Applicant

  • Diploma/Degree in related studies.
  • Min 2-4 years in Procurement experience.
  • Good in writing, documentation coordination and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge in SAP system & Ariba System
  • Knowledge in project handling of Microsoft Office system. (Computer Literate)
  • Certified Internal Auditor IATF16949
  • Strong in APQP, PPAP & 7 Core tools.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Work well under pressure and able to work independently, dynamic energetic, resourceful and problem-solving skills.
  • Good team player with integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Good in general knowledge (like economic situation & FOREX)
  • Professional certificate of Sig-Sigma is added benefit
  • Knowledge in EcoVadis is added benefit.
