The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the overall manufacturing and operational performance of the site, overseeing production, engineering, supply chain, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.This role will drive operational excellence, ensure consistent delivery performance, and strengthen manufacturing capabilities within a highly engineered, high-mix production environment.

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee all site operations including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, and maintenance.
  • Drive operational performance across key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Ensure alignment with global manufacturing standards and operational strategies.
  • Implement and strengthen Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Improve production efficiency, manufacturing processes, and plant productivity.
  • Drive operational discipline and standardisation across manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products while meeting customer project timelines.
  • Strengthen production planning, capacity management, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing technologies.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to optimise material planning, inventory management, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure operational readiness to support complex project deliveries for global customers.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen organisational capabilities across engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Work closely with regional leadership to support capacity planning, operational strategy, and investment initiatives.
  • Support business growth through operational scalability and manufacturing capability development.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Director should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Strong understanding of customized or engineered products with high-mix, low volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in product transfer, NPI or site capability build-up
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
