Job Description

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on production machinery and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Analyze mechanical systems and recommend modifications or upgrades to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure that all mechanical equipment adheres to safety regulations, food safety standards (HACCP, GMP), and company policies.
  • Lead and participate in mechanical engineering projects, such as new equipment installations and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, electrical, automation) to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance data.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams on mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Continuously monitor mechanical systems for performance improvements and contribute to cost-saving initiatives in production operations.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and process improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures, GMP, and HACCP is advantageous.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
