About Our Client

Our client set up a financial hub supporting General Ledger activities across APAC. At this juncture, their business has created a new position for strong talents to join them as a Finance Manager in GL to drive the expansion plan for their emerging markets and new acquisitions. This role provides high visibility to senior management team, promotes continuous improvement and further expansion of potential scopes and businesses for the hub.

Job Description

  • Perform review of month-end reports and follow-up with the team to resolve issues in timely manner
  • Ensure that all General Ledger activities are meeting area, region and global deadlines and in accordance with the IFRS and accounting guidelines
  • Ensure that all balance sheet account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed as per deadlines mentioned in the SLA
  • Ensure the proper staff backup plan is in place and timely reviewed
  • Lead balance sheet reviews with the countries and drive to completion all identified action
  • Support globally and/or regionally driven balance sheet reviews
  • Perform service review meetings with the business partner as per service review schedule
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and discuss with the business partners
  • Respond to the queries and issue logs raised by business partners within the time specified agreed in the SLA
  • Maintain strong client relationship
  • Create ad hoc financial analysis that provide analysis and insight to senior stakeholders
  • Periodic review of SOPs and ensure that all SOPs are updated in timely manner by the team
  • Provide information requested by global management on day to day matters
  • Liaise with external auditor and resolve the queries related to services performed
  • Be able to influence decisions / actions by value added inputs into the organization's business processes
  • Support the team members in performing the task if they face issues or problems
  • Ensure that all control are implemented, evidences gathered and timely reviewed as per the Internal Control Framework

The Successful Applicant

  • A member of internationally recognised accountancy qualification would be an advantage, i.e. CPA, ACA, CGMA (CIMA) or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a General Accounting or RTR function (8+ years), including dealing with stakeholders in different global locations
  • At least 5 years management experience with proven track record of change management and developing direct reports
  • Knowledge of and experience using financial reporting systems (such as Hyperion Smartview) would be preferred
  • Strong analytical skills- ability to think of pragmatic solutions to analytical challenges
  • Language proficiency in Chinese would be an added advantage.
