About Our Client

Michael Page Malaysia is partnering with a well established Public Listed Company to recruit a high calibre Legal Counsel who will play a key role in supporting the company's legal and business operations. As a large PLC, it prides itself on its commitment to innovation and sustainability, with operations spanning across various regions.

Job Description

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal counsel on contracts and documentation related to mergers & acquisitions, corporate transactions, and operational matters for the company and its group of companies.
  • Analyse, interpret, and address legal and regulatory issues that arise, ensuring compliance across local and international jurisdictions.
  • Keep the company informed on relevant legal and regulatory updates that may impact the business, both domestically and internationally.
  • Offer legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders as required, covering various legal matters across global operations.
  • Collaborate with external legal lawyers on matters involving the company, ensuring alignment and effective legal solutions.
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to protect the interests of the company.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the legal team to maintain high performance standards and ensure effective legal service delivery.
  • Take on additional legal responsibilities and tasks as assigned by senior management to support the the company's operations, locally and internationally.



The Successful Applicant

  • A Degree in Law (LLB) and a Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) are required with at least 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, particularly in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to apply legal expertise effectively across diverse business scenarios, both locally and internationally.
  • Driven, meticulous and a team player.
