About Our Client

Our client is a market leader in the utility engineering industry. With the rapid growth of the business, they are expanding their operations and looking to hire more talents. The company is currently hiring a legal expert to be a business partner to the commercial team.

Job Description

As this role is essential to the organization, it is vital candidate comes with a track record of delivery and proven experience. Among the many responsibilities are listed below:

  • Review and coordination for tender documents with HQ legal and tax departments: contractual review, insurance, bonds format, etc.
  • Translation/checking of contracts/legal documents.
  • Preparation and negotiation of agreements with clients and partners/sub contractors.
  • Assistance and support to Managers and engineers within the contract execution (penalties for late delivery, responsibilities, claims) in relation with clients and partners.
  • Follow up of qualifications for our engineers and the company qualification.
  • Regular Liaison with relevant government authorities.
  • To update relevant regulations, update and follow up company and staff qualifications issues (i.e. training course, certificate review etc.) and other due diligence affairs for the company's regularization and legalization.
  • Follow up opening branch offices / deregistration.
  • Follow up of our ISO certificates.
  • Filing and Archiving contractual documents + tax & legal library.
  • Legal reporting to HQ.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Legal Counsel, SEA will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company while possessing the below requirements;

  • A commercial lawyer with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in a multinational environment with prior legal private practice exposure within litigation.
  • Law degree and current certification to practice law.
  • Experience in construction industry would be an added advantage.
  • Capable to work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity coupled with diplomacy and strength of mind.
  • Capable of managing a team.
