Michael Page Governance has partnered with an industrial business who are looking to hire a Manger, Internal Audit to lead the operational audits for the group. This role is suited to those from technical operational backgrounds who have pivoted (or want to pivot) into Internal Audit. This role does NOT require previous Internal Audit experience!
  • Based in Johor, work directly within the large operation / facility
  • Open to Engineers who want to pivot into Corporate!

About Our Client

Our client is a large industrial business with major operations in the Johor area.

Job Description

Department Strategy Formulation:

  • Provide key input and advice to the formulation and implementation of the Company's Internal Audit Strategy and Plans



Design Audit Plans:

  • Provide key input to the development of Audit Universe, 5 years audit plan, and Annual Audit Plan
  • Develop comprehensive risk-based audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of standards, procedures, and process to mitigate risk in the areas of refinery, petrochemical, HSE and assets management



Engagement Process:

  • Review and approve Audit Engagement Plan, Risk Control Matrix and Audit program for technical, operational, engineering and HSE audit engagement
  • Supervise the execution of the audit and working papers preparation
  • Identify the control weakness to be reported for each audit engagement
  • Review the work of Lead Auditor and Internal Auditor to ensure the compliance to the Global Internal Audit Standard
  • Ensure timely completion of the audit engagement



Engagement Reporting:

  • Review and approve the Audit Finding Memorandum
  • Review and approve the audit report



Consulting Services:

  • Lead technical and operational consulting services
  • Lead the research to support the audit engagement and consulting services



Special Review and Investigations

  • Lead the technical review and investigation related to the plant operation and HSE



Department Reporting:

  • Lead the preparation of internal audit periodic reports to management, Audit Committee and BOD

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have 15+ years experience in industrial businesses, such as those in manufacturing or oil & gas/refining. A technical background in Engineering or other technical disciplines will be highly regarded, as this role will focus on the operational side of the audit.

This is a lucrative opportunity to join a growing business based in the Johor area. You will report into an experienced General Auditor and also have exposure to senior business leaders across the operation. The role will NOT require extensive travel outside of the immediate area.
