Operating on a global scale, this large organisation is known for its commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering and manufacturing.Job DescriptionEnsure the factory adheres to local regulations and company standards regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.Prepare implementation plans and technical documents for project bidding, evaluate technical bids, and collaborate with the company's bidding team to meet local regulatory requirements concerning safety, occupational health, etc.Participate in the review of design plans and construction drawings, promptly identifying and coordinating the resolution of issues.Organise and oversee the application and approval processes for various permits and procedures, such as safety pre-evaluations and design assessments, for company construction projects.Review qualifications of construction units, safety and environmental technical agreements, construction plans, and supervise the on-site implementation.Coordinate communications with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government departments, ensuring smooth inspections and engagement.Manage safety and environmental protection throughout the factory's operational period after construction completion.Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the factory, enhancing employee knowledge and responsibility regarding these issues.Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.Report to the internal manager or directly to the factory director, coordinating cross-departmental activities within the company.Manage external communications with relevant government bodies and stakeholders, ensuring smooth coordination between various government units and external partners.The Successful ApplicantA successful HSE Engineer should have:A bachelor's degree or higher in environmental engineering, occupational health, safety, environmental protection, fire safety, or related fields (graduates from USM, UTM, or similar institutions are preferred).3-5 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry or related fields with a focus on safety and environmental protection. Experience in factory construction from the ground up will be an advantage.Proficiency in Malay is required, along with strong English communication skills. Chinese language skills are a plus, especially for candidates with an international background.Knowledge of local safety and environmental laws and regulations in Malaysia, as well as international standards (e.g., MS1722). Capable of conducting risk assessments, accident investigations, environmental monitoring, and data analysis. BOMBA fire emergency certification is required, and experience with MyEHS system is preferred. Candidates must be willing to complete monthly online regulatory training on the DOSH official website.Proficient in using office software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to understand construction CAD drawings and basic knowledge of AutoCAD software is required.Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and passion for the job. Able to handle high-intensity work and maintain a positive, optimistic attitude. Should have strong interpersonal skills, influence, and a dedication to work. A good fit with company culture is essential.Must hold a valid DOSH-certified Safety Officer qualification.
