The Head of HR or HR Manager will be responsible for leading the HR department and implementing strategic HR initiatives to drive the growth and success of the Retail business. The role encompasses the management of all HR functions, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation, and benefits, as well as translating global business objectives into effective local strategies.

Job Description

  • Oversee full range of professional HR services and advises including performance management, manpower planning, recruitment & selection, staff movement, and work with the department heads/line managers to prevent and resolve the staff issues.
  • Accountable for talent acquisition strategies and action plan to align with the organization development plan and business direction for sustainable expansion and growth.
  • Liaise with management on the full spectrum of HR services including recruitment, compensation and benefits which is competitive to the market in the industry.
  • Oversee & Manage Recruitment, onboarding and off-boarding.
  • Liaise with Management and HODs on Annual Performance Review and salary increments.
  • Liaise with Management on Budgeting planning and Variable Bonus payment, employee awards.
  • Formulate and implement related HR policies to ensure it can help both the line managers and staff comply for work effectiveness.
  • Handle staff issues and cases including but not limited to disputes, disciplinary actions and interact with the statutory bodies in relation to staff issues to ensure legal compliance.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc HR reports, and Submit HR surveys.
  • Overall in-charge from preparation, distribution and reporting processes of payroll.
  • Oversee staff relations activities and functions in order to promote the strong connections among the company staff as the team player.
  • Working closely with the Retail Operations team in providing the professional advice and creative ideas from Human Resources perspective.
  • Review and manage the Employee insurance coverage including renewal and Work Injury claims.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments from time to time under the direction from top management.
  • Participate and support company events as and when required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Head of HR / HR Manager' should have:

  • A degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or similar role
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
