We are seeking an experienced General Ledger (GL) Team Lead to oversee and manage the GL operations within our shared services center. The ideal candidate will lead a team of 5 accountants, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams. SAP experience is mandatory, and candidates must be a certified accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

Job Description

  • Lead and supervise the General Ledger team in the daily, monthly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Manage and monitor the accurate recording of all financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Perform detailed reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review VAT netting & settlement entries by accountants/analysts.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and manage audit requirements and queries.
  • Collaborate closely with other finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A teams.
  • Prepare periodic reports for senior management and provide insights on GL performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the GL team to ensure high performance and career growth.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a must.
  • 15 years of relevant experience in General Ledger, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience working in a audit and shared service environment is highly desirable.
  • Must have SAP ERP experience with strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including IFRS and GAAP.
  • Fluency in Chinese is essential to support regional operations, and multilingual capabilities are preferred due to the need to interact with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
