Our client is a prominent Malaysian conglomerate with a global presence. It specialises in providing comprehensive industrial solutions and services through 192 branches in 17 countries and territories. One of the main solutions they provide are the sale and rental of heavy equipment & machinery for various sectors such as construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, marine, and energy.

Very stable industry with a good pipeline of projects, they are revamping their data platform and are constantly adding to their pool of Data Engineers.

Job Description

You will be working closely with the corporate finance team, so you should have a strong functional understanding of finance and technical data engineering experience.

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to efficiently move and transform data from source systems to the target data platform.
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is cleansed, standardised, and loaded accurately into the platform.
  • Create and optimise database schemas and structures to support the storage and retrieval of data in the new platform.
  • Implement data partitioning, indexing, and other performance optimisation techniques to enhance database efficiency.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to manage metadata, access controls, and data lineage throughout the data life cycle.

The Successful Applicant

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Statistics or relevant studies.
  • Experience with data pipeline development and database management.
  • Must have strong SQL and data modelling skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server suite (SSIS / SSRS / SSAS / SSMS) would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools like Power BI would be ideal.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in corporate finance related projects eg: P&L reporting, Accounts Payable, Data reconciliation & reporting, Asset Management, etc.
  • Strong communications skills for requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
