A leading EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) client in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Customs Supervisor to join their expanding team in the Northern Region. With a strong commitment toward strengthening their market position and enhancing global competitiveness, the company continues to build its success on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all aspects of its supply chain.

As part of their next phase of growth, they are looking for a skilled customs professional who can oversee and manage all import and export compliance activities, ensure adherence to customs regulations, and maintain accurate documentation to support smooth cross‑border operations. The role will play a critical part in coordinating with internal departments, government agencies, freight forwarders, and customs authorities, while driving efficiency, reducing clearance delays, and strengthening compliance standards. This position will directly contribute to enhancing overall supply chain performance, regulatory readiness, and operational scalability as the business continues to grow.

Job Description

  • Lead and guide customs/operations staff, assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and support.
  • Ensure all import/export activities comply with RMCD regulations and verify accuracy of customs documents (K1, K2, K8, K9, permits, invoices, COO).
  • Manage daily customs clearance processes, work closely with freight forwarders, agents, transporters, and internal teams to avoid delays and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare compliance/operational reports, and support internal or external customs audits.
  • Improve customs workflows, support digitalization initiatives, and track key KPIs such as clearance time, accuracy, and compliance performance.



The Successful Applicant

  • Required Skills and Experience
  • Fluence in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both Read and Write).
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum 5 years trade compliance experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Export Processing Enterprice (EPE) Compliance and Customs management and the effects of trade compliance activities across responsible areas.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders both in written and verbal formats
  • Results Oriented
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong MS Office products knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to gain trust and confidence from peers and leadership.
