About Our Client

Our client produces circuit boards primarily for various mobile telecommunications devices, including cellular telephones, hand-held computers, personal data assistants, camcorders, and portable global positioning systems. Our client also produces circuit boards for the computer, automobile, and medical industries.

Job Description

This the incumbent must proactively promote company value, reputation, key messages and build strong relationships among the local media and network effectively with government officials to facilitate strategic relationships building to ensure new campus project site runs smoothly. Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs and plan to protect and promote business interests.

  • Engage with the government officials at all levels improve access to relevant projects and business opportunities.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive employee communication activities to boost employee connections and commitments to company, contributing to the company's mission and vision and deepening employee engagement.

  • Lead/coordinate campaigns to enhance the company's brand positioning and create strong impact in the market; identify external opportunities and platforms to strategically deploy thought leadership.

  • Proactively monitor local policy and regulatory developments, emerging trends, and other political or public issues with potential business impacts; ensure risks are managed and opportunities assessed.

  • Monitor the PR coverage and share of mind of the brand and competitors to develop appropriate strategies that are aiming at achieving an optimised PR coverage.

  • Build and maintain a strong and harmonious relationship with local key media in order to continuously improve and maximise the PR coverage/brand awareness.

  • Liaise frequently with the communication teams in overseas to ensure alignment with corporate objectives

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate is an experienced mar-comm from the manufacturing sector. Other requirements include:

  • Min. 10 years of experience in public relations, corporate communication and government affairs leadership roles or Experience working with PR agencies.

  • Bachelor's degree in literature, communication and/or Commercial education

  • Experience in multi-national organisation of industrial manufacturing or similar field would be advantageous

  • Knowledge of electronics or semiconductor business model

  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally and in writing, adapting complex communications for differing audiences. The ability to communicate in Chinese would be advantageous.

  • A comprehensive understanding of traditional/digital media and significant experience determining the appropriate media mix.

  • Working knowledge of Government with ability to align Business objectives with Government's priorities.

  • Experience in quickly analysing and then resolving complex issues, carrying out responsibilities with extensive collaboration and alignment.

  • A strong work ethic, with experience in organising concurrent multi-tasked workload for effective implementation.

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity, adapting as the external environment and organization evolves.
