Job Description



  • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in line with its overall business goals and Shariah compliance.
    • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set long-term financial goals and business objectives.
    • Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making and business planning.


  • Financial Management & Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring they comply with Shariah principles.
    • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, the Board of Directors, and investors.


  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain a robust risk management framework that complies with Takaful regulations and Shariah requirements.
    • Monitor and manage financial risks, including investment risks, market risks, and operational risks, ensuring adequate protection of policyholder funds.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those set by the central bank, insurance regulators, and Shariah boards.


  • Investment Management:
    • Oversee the company's investment strategy, ensuring investments are Shariah-compliant and aligned with the company's risk appetite.
    • Manage relationships with investment managers, ensuring optimal performance of the investment portfolio.
    • Provide regular updates on investment performance to the Board and other stakeholders.


  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Drive financial process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the organization.
    • Lead the implementation of financial systems and technology to support the company's operational needs.
    • Oversee treasury management, including cash flow management and liquidity planning.


  • Capital Management & Fundraising:
    • Manage the company's capital structure, ensuring adequate liquidity and capital reserves to meet regulatory requirements and support growth.
    • Lead efforts to raise capital, including issuing Sukuk or other Shariah-compliant financial instruments.
    • Build and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions.


  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
    • Ensure the finance team has the necessary skills and knowledge to support the company's strategic objectives and compliance requirements.



The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is preferred.
  • [Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, with at least [5+] years in a senior leadership role within the insurance or Takaful industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Shariah-compliant financial practices and Takaful regulations.
  • Experience in investment management and risk management within a financial services environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
