As a Cloud Engineer for AWS, I design and implement configuration templates for cloud infrastructure provisioning, while continuously enhancing monitoring mechanisms and recommending architecture improvements for enhanced reliability and performance. Additionally, I identify and automate responses to mission-critical service issues, striving for continuous improvement in the AWS platform.

Job Description

  • Mastery of AWS technologies, including familiarity with Azure APIs, ensuring adeptness with both IAAS and PAAS platforms, involving VM setups, networking solutions (like VNETs, traffic managers, load balancers, and application gateways), and app service configurations.
  • Proficient in configuring and managing various services such as function apps, storage accounts, CDNs, logic apps, and DNS settings.
  • A solid understanding of database technologies across SQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
  • Conduct detailed technical evaluations and root cause analyses of application designs to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Design and implement strategies to ensure high availability for web applications, demonstrating a commitment to improving systems and processes with urgency.
  • Innovate and challenge current technology practices, introducing new ideas to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Cultivate strong inter-team relationships, aiming to deeply understand business objectives and user needs.
  • Adhere to principles of reliability and configuration management, employing a creative and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Requirement of holding at least two AWS certifications, coupled with significant operational and project experience within the AWS Cloud ecosystem.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services and its ecosystem.
  • Skilled in PowerShell scripting and Terraform for infrastructure as code implementations.
  • Experienced in crafting resilient systems, including strategies for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Proficient in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies, with experience using various deployment tools.
  • Solid background in managing and supporting applications on Microsoft platforms, particularly those built on Java and .NET frameworks.
  • Expertise in setting up instrumentation and monitoring systems, with a proactive approach to performance and availability issues.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), CI/CD, Agile, and Lean principles.
  • Ability to conduct technical deep dives in infrastructure, databases, and applications, focusing on the design, coding, operation, and support of high-performing, available services.
  • Experience in operating and supporting mission-critical applications, including managing incidents and outages.



Educational Background:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.



Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Chef, New Relic, Puppet) for delivering and operating end-user services is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as T-SQL and PowerShell.
  • Certifications in SQL Server or Microsoft Azure are highly valued.
